I am pleased to provide a review for Coombs Island Self Storage and Amber in particular. The storage facility is fantastic: easily accessible, extremely clean, 24 hr surveillance, keypad locked, separate keys for units etc. I used a 10x20 temperature controlled unit and was thrilled that my belongings came out in as great a condition as they went in. As an added bonus Amber addressed all my questions, concerns, and requests thoughtfully plus went out of her way to alleviate any reservations I may have had. Have had a storage unit for over two years. Rates are fair and competitive. The yard is very well maintained and has excellent security. Staff are very helpful and friendly.Directions:
From downtown Coombs, BC:
- Head east on Alberni Hwy/BC-4A E toward Coombs Rd
- In 2.4 km, turn right onto Shearme Rd
- Island Self Storage will be on the left
From Nanaimo, BC:
- Head west on Fitzwilliam St toward Wesley St
- Continue onto Third St
- After 1.9 km, continue onto Jingle Pot Rd
- Turn right onto BC-19 N (signs for Campbell R)
- In 32.6 km, take exit 51 for British Columbia 4 Alternate toward Parksville/Coombs
- Turn left onto Alberni Hwy/BC-4A W (signs for Coombs)
- In 5.3 km, turn left onto Shearme Rd
- Island Self Storage will be on the left
From Parksville, BC:

Our storage facility was family built in 2018 and continue to be owned and operated by the same local family.
We have made a conscious effort to incorporate energy-efficient elements into this unique build. Including features such as solar power and extra insulation on the buildings & doors, making us one of the most energy-efficient storage facilities on Vancouver Island.
We actively participate in a variety of local events and are always looking to support local charities and organizations whenever possible.
